Raymond James DeGonia of Imperial, Missouri departed this life peacefully on October 12th, 2025, at the age of 91 at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri. Born on July 26th, 1934, in Potosi, Missouri, Raymond was a proud Operating Engineer of Local Union 513 for 72 years. He loved his work as a derrick and crane operator at Davis Street Sand Co. until their closing.
Raymond’s life reflected his unwavering love for the outdoors, his family, and his friends. He enjoyed fishing, shooting guns and his boats. He loved playing cards, Pitch and Canasta, with his family. He always loved conversation and spending time with his family and friends, always there for them and willing to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Butler Pfaff and her husband Robert Pfaff, one grandson, Brett Butler all of Festus, Missouri; his son, Robert DeGonia and his wife Becky of Arnold, Missouri; his sister, Laura Partney and her husband Leslie of Potosi, Missouri, in addition to many nieces, nephews and friends. Raymond's legacy lives on through them, as well as in the hearts of all who were fortunate to have known him.
Raymond is proceeded in death by his beloved daughter, Barbara (Jon) Eversmeyer; his mother, Lucille Cornine (Lachance) DeGonia; his father, Joe Frank DeGonia; three sisters, Loretta (Martin) Barron Barbara (Bill) Blaylock, Margaret (Milford) Vandergriff, Two brothers, George (Della) DeGonia and Gene (Charlene) DeGonia and the mother of his children, Violet (Witt) DeGonia.
Raymond leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a profound impact on those who loved and admired him; and he will be missed dearly.
