Raymond Earl Brakefield

    Raymond Earl Brakefield passed away on August 15, 2023, at the age of 72. He was born on June 1, 1951, in Bonne Terre, Missouri a son to the late Clyde Cecil Brakefield and Ruth Marie (Beers) Brakefield. 

    Raymond dedicated several years of his life to serving in the United States Army from 1971 to 1977. His commitment to the military exemplified his selflessness and dedication to his country.

    Raymond will be remembered for his warm and caring personality. He is survived by his son, Daniel Brakefield, sisters, Judy Green, Cynthia Robinson and her husband Steve, brothers, Cecil Brakefield and his wife Ramona, Noel Brakefield and his wife Glenda. Raymond leaves behind a lasting legacy through his four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and special nephew Billy Kean.  Although he is no longer with us, Raymond's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

    Raymond was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Marie (Beers) Brakefield, father Clyde Cecil Brakefield, as well as sisters Betty Briley and Jean Volner.

    Raymond was an integral part of his community. He had a strong work ethic that guided him throughout his life. Countless individuals benefited from Raymond's willingness to lend a helping hand. Those who knew Raymond will fondly remember his kindhearted nature. He touched many lives with his generosity and genuine compassion.
