Edwin “Ed” Politte of Cadet was born October 30, 1941 in Racola a son to the late Edwin Politte and Mary Catherine (Boyer) Politte. Ed departed this life Tuesday, June 29, 2021 having reached the age of 79 years, 7 months and 30 days.
On December 28, 1963, Ed was united in marriage to Nancy (Bone) Politte and together they happily raised their children and were blessed with many years.
Ed is survived by his children and family; wife, Nancy (Bone) Politte; son, Ed, Jr. Politte and wife Robby of Imperial their son, Brady and wife Emily Politte and daughter, Bailey Politte; son, Dion Politte and wife Jill of Old Mines their children, Miranda Kintzler and husband Dan, Ross Politte and Seth Politte; daughter, Lynne Pashia and husband Dave of O’Fallon, their son Luke Pashia and his children, Benjamin and Abigail, son; Dustin Pashia and wife Bailey, their daughter Lorelei; son Dylan Pashia and wife Jaden; son, Ethan Pashia; daughter, Dawn Wishon and husband Blake of Steelville, their son Drew Wishon, son, Jessie Pashia and wife Chelsie and their children, Laela, Paige and Jackson. son, Garret Wishon and wife Abby, their son Henry; daughter, Angie Pennock, and husband Bob of Pevely and their children, Clayton Pennock and fiancé Dayson Conner and Kelci Krueger and husband Ben and their son Berkley; daughter Nan Patterson and husband Lee of Old Mines their son Brandon Tiefenauer, his children, Liam, Hadley, Barrett and Gannon, their daughters, Lexi Tiefenauer, Laney Credeur, Sadie Patterson, Kirsten Hickman and husband Josh, their son Karter, Levi Patterson and his son Emmett; sisters, Mary Ann Pratt of St. Clair, Jeannie Brown of Potosi, Monica E. Pratt and husband Dave of Cadet; brothers, Glen Politte of Festus, Russell Politte of Arnold, Jimmy Politte and wife Carolyn of Cadet, Steven Politte and wife Joyce of Cadet, David A. Politte and wife Kathy of Cadet and Rick Politte and wife Marcia of Cadet; adopted sons in 1977 Fr. Rosy and Jason Credeur; in-laws, Kenny Bone and wife Pat, Ginny Bone, Tom Bone and wife Wanda, Janet Govero and husband Lawrence, Joe Bone and wife Joann, Paul Bone and wife Brenda, Elaine Portell and husband Bill, Trish Boyer and husband Don, Peg Portell and husband Ken and Ruth Bone and many other dear and special friends.
In addition to his Parents, Ed was proceeded in death by his sisters, Kitty and Judith Ann; brothers, Jerry, Bill, Joe and Dennis; grandchild, Josie Wishon; brothers-in law, Bill Bone, Dale Pratt; sisters-in-law, Sandy Politte and Diane Politte.
Ed’s love for his parish and his faith was strong and he lived his life serving the Lord and Savior. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, being initiated August 1, 1974. He took pride in his job of transportation with SMTS. He loved joking and was very witty, often showing others his air guitar skills. He had a love for baseball, listening to Merle Haggard, and other classic country songs, playing euchre and cutting grass. He also had interest in Blackwalnut production. Above everything in the world, his family and friends were what was most important to him. He will always be remembered for his big heart and being very generous in everyone’s life that he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Memorials may be directed to the St. Joachim Catholic Church for Masses or to the St. Vincent De Paul Society, St. Joachim Church.
