Mike Patrick Maurath of Potosi, Missouri was born March 5, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri a son to the late Raymond Maurath and Jean (Jakubowski) Maurath. Mike departed this life Tuesday, February 2, 2021 having reached the age of 75 years, 10 months and 28 days.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Victoria Raquepaw and husband Chris of Fairbanks, Alaska; son, Micheal Maurath of Sullivan, Missouri; brother, Anthony Maurath of Joplin, Missouri; sisters, Ramona Reeves and husband Tim of Richwoods, Missouri, Kathleen Elmer and husband Bernard of Arnold, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Jean, Micheal, Alexandra, Matthew, Olivia, Anna, Michael; seven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Crosswhite, Rebecca Hampsten; brothers, Leo Maurath and Randall Maurath.
Mike was a loving father, brother and friend. He was a proud veteran of the United State Marine Corps, having served from 1963-1968. During his time with the Marines, he was a Rifleman and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He had a great love for the outdoors and loved to travel and take care of animals. He loved relaxing at home and tinkering with old cars. Seeing them get back on the road brought him great joy. Above everything else, he loved his family unconditionally and cherished every moment he spent with them. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
