Lloyd Shivers, a dedicated family man and hard worker, passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on February 19, 1938, in Potosi, Missouri, he spent his working years devoted to the sawmill, where his commitment and diligence became a hallmark of his character. On December 8, 1956, Lloyd was united in marriage to Doshia (Bouse) Shivers and they were blessed with 68 loving years together.
Lloyd’s personality emerged as a blend of hard work and love for his family. He cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather, taking great pride in his family's accomplishments. Lloyd enjoyed various pastimes, particularly cutting wood and squirrel hunting, activities that connected him deeply to nature.
Lloyd is survived by his devoted wife, Doshia Shivers, along with his daughters, Rosemary Smith and her husband Steve, Diana Price and Larry Pfeil, and his sons, Junior Shivers and Reynold Shivers. He also leaves behind his sister, Imogene West, and his brother, Edward Shivers and his wife Sue. Lloyd's extended family includes his sisters-in-law, Edith McEntire and Essie Carpenter. A proud grandfather, he is remembered fondly by his grandchildren, Kristina, Wendy, Stephen, Leo, Jr, Michael, Justin, Nicole, Jammie, Megan, Jessica, Little Eddie, Kayla, and Connor, in addition to his 19 great-grandchildren, one of whom is on the way, along with one great-great-grandchild, who is also expected.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rosie Bell (Lamkey) Shivers and Archie Veach Shivers; his brother, Junior Shivers; sister, Nola Conway; along with sisters-in-law Blanche Young, Mary Neff, Lenora Wisdom, and Bernace Bouse. He was also preceded by brothers-in-law Donald Conway, Charles Hammock, George Bouse, Stanley “Bug” Carpenter, Fuz McEntire, Jerry Young, Reynolds Neff, and Traffie Wisdom, as well as his grandson, Eric Shivers.
Lloyd will be remembered not only for his hard work and dedication but also for the love he shared with his family. He leaves behind an enduring legacy that will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew him.
