Kimala Kay Pruitt, 53, of St. Clair, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Kim was born on May 21, 1973, in Naples, Florida. She lived most of her childhood in Fletcher, Missouri where her family ran a local store and canoe rental. Kim graduated from Grandview High School before beginning her career as a caregiver in a nursing home. Caring for others came naturally to her, and whether she was serving patients, raising her family, or encouraging a friend, she gave her all with a generous heart. Shortly after starting her family, she became a devoted homemaker, creating a home where everyone knew they were loved and welcome.

To those who knew her best, Kim was so much more than the roles she filled, she was the heart of her family. She treasured every moment with her children and grandchildren, who were the greatest blessings of her life. Some of their favorite memories are the simplest ones: piling into the car for long drives with the windows down, old country songs and gospel hymns filling the air, or gathering in the living room to watch her favorite Disney movies while the grandchildren snuggled close beside her. If music was playing and she felt well enough, there was a good chance everyone in the house would end up dancing with her.

Kim found joy in life's little comforts. She rarely turned down a cup of coffee, usually with plenty of creamer and sugar and loved having conversations around the kitchen table. She had a way of making ordinary moments feel special, leaving her family with countless memories that will continue to bring smiles and laughter for years to come.

Above all else, Kim loved the Lord. Her faith was not something she simply talked about; it shaped the way she lived every day. Each evening, she gathered her family to pray together before bedtime. Those prayers became cherished moments, as she had a remarkable gift for speaking to God with sincerity, grace, and unwavering trust. Her Bible was one of her most treasured possessions, its pages worn from years of reading and filled with handwritten notes, prayers, and reflections that revealed a deep and personal walk with Christ.

A lifelong lupus warrior, Kim faced countless challenges with quiet strength and resilience. She never allowed her illness to define her, choosing instead to live with hope, compassion, and forgiveness. Kim's legacy is not measured by possessions or accomplishments, but by the faith she lived, the family she cherished, and the love she gave freely. Her kindness, laughter, steadfast prayers, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will continue to echo through the lives of everyone blessed to know her.

She is survived by her fiancé, Mike Phelps; her children, Amanda (Stephen) Knapp, Kaydi (Curt) Longwell, and Malachi Pruitt; grandchildren, Oliver and Eliana Longwell; sister, Donna (John) Tipton; and many extended family members, dear friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ who will forever cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Karen and Donald Maglothin.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7th, at 12:00PM at Moore Funeral Home in Potosi, Missouri, followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Lupus Foundation of America. Those wishing to honor Kim's memory are encouraged to show kindness to someone in need, extend forgiveness, and lift others up in prayer, just as she did throughout her life.
