Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Our Dancing Queen, Karen Politte-Corn, left this world on Friday, July 3rd.

Born on August 5th, 1975, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, Karen was a walking, laughing contradiction in the most beautiful way. She was a gentle, peaceful soul and a patient caregiver who brought calm to every storm, yet she was also fiercely competitive in everything from Bananagrams to euchre. While she wasn't big on hugs or overly affectionate words, her family never spent a single second doubting her immense love. She was a warrior-protector of her people, completely selfless, and genuinely happier about others' success than her own.

A creative rockstar, Karen started her career as a graphic designer at the YMCA of the Ozarks before thriving as a highly respected marketing and communications professional in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Outside of work, she was a true foodie, an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, a thoughtful gift-giver, and a lover of live music.

She leaves behind a legacy of selflessness, sharp wit, and an ironclad belief in the potential of others. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Politte and father-in-law, Preston Corn. She is deeply missed by her husband, John-Michael; her daughters, Madison and Ellie; her mother, Joyce Politte; her sister, Cindy Politte Logan (Chris and Ava); her brother, Patrick Politte (Stacey, Cam, and Lucy); her mother-in-law Kathleen Corn; her sister-in-laws Kristie Hochwender (Cris & Lillie), and Adrienne Corn (Darwin); brother-in-law Scott Corn (Christy, Arika & Micah); her smile inducing grandniece Vienna; and beloved friends and family all over the world.

Visitation for Karen will be held Saturday, August 8th from 10AM-11AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 8th at 11AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines. Burial will be at St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery in Old Mines.
