Jeannie Skaggs

   Jeannie Skaggs, a beloved member of the Potosi community, passed away on August 4, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on July 21, 1947, in Potosi, Missouri, Jeannie’s life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to family and friends.

   On April 18, 1964, Jeannie was united in marriage to Curtis Skaggs, with whom she lovingly shared 46 years of marriage until his passing in 2010. Together, they built a loving home and created countless cherished memories. Jeannie’s warmth and nurturing spirit shone brightly through her dedication to her family. She is survived by two daughters, Anita Benson and her husband Buddy, and Michelle Skaggs, all from Potosi, Missouri; and a son, James Skaggs and his wife Amanda, also of Potosi.

   Jeannie is also survived by her dear brother, Perry Farrow and his wife Glenda, of Potosi, and a cherished friend, Robert Chazelle. Her legacy extends to her grandchildren, who will forever carry her love in their hearts: Matthew Skaggs, Joseph Benson and his wife Samantha, Caitlyn Morgan and her husband Ronald, Tashia Weir and her husband Jordan, Austin Skaggs, Kasey Skaggs, Emma Skaggs, Aimme Eaton and her husband Matt, and Katie Coleman. Moreover, she was blessed with many great-grandchildren: Lylee, Rylee, Baylee Weir, Joseph, Calie and Blake Benson, Maci and Laci Simmons, Reagan Tweedy, Brandon (Cali) Skaggs, Zoey, Ronald, Wyatt, Marshall and Myles Morgan, Tyler Miner, Katelyn Willard and her husband Noah, Kaylee Miner, Emma Eaton, Ean Eaton, Ayla Williams and Beau Litton, in addition to many other relatives and dear and special friends.

   Jeannie was a devoted member of St. James Catholic Church in Potosi, where her faith played an integral role in her life. She loved being surrounded by family and friends, cultivating connections that enriched her existence. Jeannie’s personality was warm and welcoming, always inviting others into her home and heart.

   She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Curtis Skaggs, her parents Anna (Morgan) Farrow-Smith and Naamon Farrow, her granddaughter Erika DeClue, great-grandson Robert Morgan, her sister Shirley McConnel, and her sister and brother-in-law Mary Bess and George Lalumondier, as well as granddaughter-in-law Shannon Skaggs.

   Jeannie Skaggs will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
