Jack Daniel Courtway

    Jack Daniel Courtway, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on August 5, 2023 at the age of 64. He was known for his fun-loving nature, caring personality, and strong work ethic. Jack was born on February 17, 1959, in Cadet, Missouri to his loving parents Pauline (Smith) Courtway and James Edward Courtway. Jack married the love of his life Laura (Osia) Courtway on April 24, 1999 and they shared 24 years together.  

    Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife Laura Courtway and their children Tommy Courtway, Janet Courtway and Keyontrey Lee, Lily Courtway, Jessica Littrell. He also leaves behind sisters Mary "Tookie" Whaley, Pauline "Poopie" Counts, Betty Courtway; brothers Joseph Courtway and his wife Carol as well as James "Butch" Courtway; grandchildren Levi and Reece; loyal life-long friends Mike "Munk" Thompson, Brian Thompson, Danny Rolens and Tina Rolens alongside Lonnie "Hippie" Eckhoff. Additionally, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who were all touched by his kind spirit.

    In his free time, Jack enjoyed various hobbies and interests. His love for fishing allowed him to find tranquility on serene waters. Playing pool was another passion of his; he demonstrated skill and enjoyment while engaging in friendly competition. Golf offered Jack a chance to experience the outdoors while perfecting his swing. Additionally, he took great pleasure in rock and arrowhead collecting which fueled his curiosity about the world's ancient history. Jack had a deep appreciation for the beauty of lightning storms and would often capture their magnificence through photography.

    Though we will deeply miss Jack in our lives, we take comfort knowing he has been reunited with his siblings Margaret Hastings, Bonnie Berks, Jerry David Hank Courtway, brother-in-laws Roy Whaley and Tommy Emily, sister-in-law Connie Courtway that went before him. 

    Jack will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew him. His unwavering love for life and his warm nature have imprinted in the lives of many. May he rest in peace as his legacy lives on through fond memories shared with all.
