Nancy Lorraine (Estes) Ives of Irondale was born May 7, 1934 in St. Louis a daughter to the late Raymond Arthur Estes and Mildred Cary-May Hood. Nancy departed this life Wednesday, June 16, 2021 having reached the age of 87 years, 1 month and 9 days.
On January 20, 1951, Nancy was united in marriage to the late Leo Carl Ives and they were blessed with sixty- two years together.
Nancy is survived by her son, Neal Ives and wife Vivian of Leadington; daughters, Carla Thurman of Lee Summit, Missouri, Lisa Charles and husband Randy of St. Louis; brother, William Estes and wife Betty of O’Fallon, Missouri; grandchildren, Angela Kite, Marsha Hasty, Jenee Brule, Chris Wallen; great grandchildren, Emmitt Hasty, Carleigh Hasty, Delaney, Nolon Brule, Sophia Helein, Christopher Wallen and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, James Estes; sister, Deanna Horton; son-in-law, Elroy Thurman and great grandparents, James and Audrey Puckett.
Nancy was a kind and caring person, always taking care of others. She was devoted to her church and was the Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also the Missionette Leader, director of the church plays and song leader. She was loved by all and never met a stranger. She was a fan of the T.V. show I Love Lucy and collected memorabilia from the show. She will be greatly missed and the memories she left behind will never be forgotten.
