Jay Harold Horton

Jay Harold Horton of Irondale was born March 30, 1962 in Bonne Terre, Missouri and a son to the late Kenneth Harlan Horton and Deanna Mae (Birdsall) Horton. Jay departed this life Monday, October 18, 2021 having reached the age of 59 years, 6 months and 18 days.
Jay is survived by his sisters, Sandra Davis and husband Terry of Irondale, Donna Waln of Terre DuLac, Debbie Groves and husband John of Bonne Terre; brothers, Daniel Horton of Terre DuLac, Pat Horton and wife Teresa of Terre DuLac, Charles Horton of Irondale and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear and special friends.
In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by a brother James Horton.
Jay loved people and helping his community. He proudly served as the mayor of Irondale for two terms and enjoyed working with youth counseling and activities. He attended every local sporting event and loved cheering on his teams. He was known as “Uncle Jay” to many, and they held a special place in his heart. He spent many days and hours with nieces and nephews at ball games, Six Flags and numerous other events. He will be missed by all who loved and had the pleasure of knowing him.
