George Lee Pinson

    George Lee Pinson, a beloved member of the community and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiff, MO passed away on November 25, 2023, at the age of 76. He was born June 23, 1947, in Cadet, Missouri, a son to the late Wilma (Province) Pinson and Dorsey J. Pinson and the eldest of eleven children. He grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and an unwavering desire to make a difference in the world. 

   George is survived by his wife Regina Marie Pinson; their children Georgia Ann Pinson and Jeffrey Scott Pinson; and grandchildren Kayla, Tyler, Landen, and Owen. His love for his family; especially, his grandchildren knew no bounds, and he treasured each opportunity to be part of their lives.

    In addition to his immediate family members, George leaves behind siblings who shared a close bond with his brothers: Richard Pinson and wife Mary Jo, Glennon "Butch" Pinson, Tim Pinson, Roger Pinson and wife Michelle, Randy Pinson and wife Jan, and Brian Pinson; his sisters: Wanda Jackson, Linda Nees and husband Wayne, Yvonne Allen and husband Butch, Pamela Masterson and husband Scott; who will all fondly remember George and the special moments they shared. George is also survived by Regina's loving and caring family: Joyce Politte, Joseph G. Daugherty (Clarice), Catherine Blase, Ed Massie, Bernadette Schmidt (Bill), Thomas (Barbara) Daugherty and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will greatly miss him.

    George has been reunited with loved ones who went before him Parents: Wilma (Province) Pinson and Dorsey J. Pinson, Father-in-law and Mother in law Joseph G. Daugherty Catherine (Pratt) Daugherty; brother-in-laws, Dan Jackson, Rick Blase, Steve Politte and sister-in-law, Margaret (Daugherty) Massie. 

    Following his career as a heavy equipment operator, George made significant contributions to law enforcement. He began as a volunteer reserve officer for Washington County Sheriff’s Department and the city of Desoto Police Department. This experience and training led him to become a State Park Ranger at Washington State Park and other nearby parks. Then, he served as a police officer for the City of DeSoto for 10 years, where he worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of the community he loved. He also served many Washington County and neighboring counties as a certified and extremely knowledgeable gunsmith. George always thought of his customers not as customers but as his special friends.

    In addition, George invested his time and talents as scoutmaster of Troop 454, Tiff, MO for six years giving many young men opportunities of exploring and enjoying the outdoors through camping, hiking, boating and fishing while learning many important life skills.   

    George's dedication extended far beyond his profession; he was deeply invested in his family and cherished every moment spent with them. A loving husband to Regina Marie Pinson for 50 years, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to their relationship. Together they created a home filled with love, support, and laughter.

    Outside of his professional and family life, George had a variety of hobbies and interests. He found solace in the great outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing, immersing himself in the beauty of nature. George was also an enthusiastic traveler and camper and took joy in exploring new places with his kids and grand kids. One of his passions was collecting and restoring old tractors, a hobby that brought him both satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, he had an affinity for coin collecting which allowed him to delve into history through these precious artifacts.

    The memory of George will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him. A man of integrity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones he leaves behind a lasting legacy that will never fade.

    In this time of grief, let us remember George's enduring spirit and memories he leaves behind.
