    Gary Dale Howell, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 1, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born on December 30, 1949. 

    Gary lived a fulfilling life as a truck driver. His love for the open road and sense of adventure led him to be known by his CB handle as "Hacksaw." Throughout his career, Gary traversed countless miles, building connections with fellow truckers along the way.

    Driving trucks was not just a job for Gary, it was a passion. The freedom of the open road brought him joy and fulfillment. His dedication and skill earned him the admiration and respect of his peers.

    When Gary wasn't behind the wheel of his truck, he enjoyed indulging in his favorite hobbies. Hunting was one of his greatest passions. He appreciated being out in nature, finding solace in its tranquility while honing his skills as an outdoorsman. Camping trips presented an opportunity for Gary to further immerse himself in the beauty of nature.

    Gary will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind cherished memories and a lasting impact on those whose lives he touched. 

    His memory will forever be treasured by his surviving family members, including Tammy Stark his daughter and husband Yancey, whose lives were enriched by Gary's love and support. In addition to Tammy and Yancey, he is survived by Shea Stark his grandson and wife Kendra, Lucas Stark and Tatum Stark his great-grandchildren and Verna Mercille his fiance. They find solace in knowing that Gary's spirit will live on through their shared experiences and cherished moments.

    Gary was preceded in death by his father Rubert Howell; mother Elsie Batten Howell; sister Doris Gunter; brothers Garner Howell and Robert Howell, and his granddaughter Preslie Stark. 

    Gary Dale Howell's departure from this world is deeply felt by all who knew him. In honoring his memory, let us remember his free spirit, adventurous soul, and unwavering love for his family. May he rest in eternal peace as his spirit continues to live on in our hearts and minds.

    Rest in peace Hacksaw, your spirit will forever roam on the open road and in vastness of nature.
