Edd Akers, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 11, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on August 6, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri, Edd’s life was defined by unwavering dedication to his family and his steadfast work ethic.

A hard worker in his professional life, Edd built a fulfilling career as a mechanic, holding his position with great precision and passion. Through the years, Edd channeled that same energy into his role as a family man. He found immense happiness in the company of his family, for whom he provided unwavering support and endless love.

On January 5, 1984, Edd was united in marriage to Patricia (Everhart) Akers. Together they happily shared 40 years of life’s journey before Patricia’s passing in 2025. Edd was a proud and loving father to Rebecca Kirkhart and her husband John, April Wade and her husband William and Candice Winick and Rodney Jarvis. His devotion extended to his cherished grandchildren—Summer, Ariel, Lilly, Trinaty, Matt, Whitney, Bentley, and Liam—whom he adored and took every opportunity to spoil. The joys of great-grand fatherhood enriched his later years, with Ryker and Brylon with another great grandchild on the way.

Edd was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Akers; his son-in-law, Jeremy Winick; and his granddaughters, Tapanga Winick and Loralie Winick. He leaves behind his children and their families, as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his memory and honor his legacy.

Edd leaves behind a profound legacy of hard work, devotion, and unconditional love. His memory will endure in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
