Patty Bone (Smith)

Beatrice “Patty” Bone of Mineral Point, Missouri, passed away on May 5, 2017 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Home in Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-two years, eight months and three days. She was born on September 2, 1934 in Potosi, Missouri, a daughter to the late Andrew and Sarah Smith. Patty was united in marriage to Robert “Glen” Bone on September 25, 1954 and one child was born to this union.

Patty is survived by her beloved husband, Glen Bone of Mineral Point, and daughter, Glenda Bone of St. Louis, MO. She is also survived by her two godchildren, Angie (Parsons) Rowley of Farmington, MO and Floyd “Bingo” Parsons of Pocatello, ID as well as many extended family members and friends, her faithful canine companions, Coalie and Lucky and granddog Laney.

In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by her three sisters, Adeline (Smith) Griggs and husband, Fred, Fannie Belle (Smith) Parsons and husband, Floyd and Kathleen (Smith) Lawson and husband, Nelson; as well as her two brothers, Leo Smith and Joe Smith.

Patty was a spiritual woman and was a life-long member of the Mineral Point United Methodist Church where she served as Treasurer for over thirty years. She was a voracious reader and loved to read all types of books, but she especially loved Harlequin romance stories. She loved to travel and took many vacations in the U.S. and internationally with her daughter, Glenda. She loved animals and fed (and sometimes kept) every stray dog that came to her house or was dumped on her road.

Patty was a graduate of Potosi High School. She spent most of her career (25+ years) as a cook/lunch lady at Mineral Point Elementary School. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Prior to working at the school she worked at the Mineral Point Post Office.

She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed for her quiet demeanor, her love of animals and her tenacity.

Visitation was held Monday, May 8, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Pastor David Lindow officiating.

Final prayers and burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
