Bobby Parmley

Bobby Parmley, a hardworking and caring man devoted to his family, passed away on June 21st, 2023 at the age of 91. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. Bobby was born on June 30th, 1931 in Caledonia, Missouri to the late Minnie Mae (Morgan) Parmley and Garner Parmley.

On October 30th, 1954 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri Bobby married Wilma Ann Boyer and together they celebrated sixty-seven years of marriage. Bobby was known as “Bobby Bear” to his family and many friends.

Bobby's love for the outdoors was profound. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and long walks outside. His family was extremely important to him, and he always went above and beyond to ensure their happiness and wellbeing. Bobby's kind heart and warm smile could light up any room he entered.  He worked in St. Louis at an early age for several years. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Brown Shoe Company for 35 years. His greatest job was being self-employed full time to enjoy the outdoors cutting wood for the locals in and around the Potosi area. He later took a job with the Potosi High School District to continue to serve the people of the area. He had a great love for family, friends and strangers and enjoyed just meeting people to talk. He enjoyed listening to music on his many rides to eat at his favorite restaurants. He touched many lives and had a heart of gold. His mornings were fulfilled with joy as he would go to McDonalds and visit with the morning crew and meet new friends.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Wilma Ann (Boyer) Parmley; children David Gene Parmley, Rhonda Portell and her husband Craig; sister Gladys Volner; grandchildren Jamie, Jason, Jared, Ryan and Nathan; great-grandchildren Dylan, Jordan, Savannah, Jason Jr., Justin, Morgan, Josh, Gracie, Lana, Maze, Ainslee, Sabel Mae; as well as great-great-grandchildren Connor, Rilee, Parker, Mason, Sophia, Carter, Blakelee, Ramsey, Wyatt, Paige and many other relative and friends.

Bobby's passing has left a void in our hearts but he has been reunited in the heavens with his mother, Minnie Mae Parmley; father, Garner Parmley; son Greg Parmley; sister Mildred "Mickey" Bunch; brothers Hershel Parmley, Charles Parmley, and Billy Richards.

With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to a wonderful human being who touched the lives of everyone he met. His warmth and love will be missed by many, but we can all take solace in the fact that Bobby Parmley lived a full and happy life with many loved ones around him. May he rest in peace knowing he was a cherished member of his community and family.
