Alvina Mae Coleman

    Alvina Mae Coleman of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on January 8th, 1933 in Mineral Point, Missouri, a daughter to the late Leonard Coleman and Vada (Govero) Coleman. Alvina departed this life Sunday, February 5th, 2023 having reached the age of 90 years and 28 days.

    Alvina was united in marriage to the late James Kenneth Coleman on June 11th, 1949 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. They were blessed with three children and were happily married for sixty-five years.

In addition to her parents, and devoted husband of 65 years, Alvina is preceded in death by her brother, Lynn Coleman and sister, Marie Abney.

    Alvina is survived by her daughter, Kenda and husband Mark Hopkins from Farmington, Missouri; sons Derrick and wife Barbara Coleman of Caledonia, Missouri, Corey and wife Shelba Coleman of Mineral Point, Missouri; sisters, Gail and husband Billy Missey of Potosi, Missouri, Kara Richeson of Quincy, Illinois; brother, Neal Coleman of Quincy, Illinois; sister-in-law, Glenda Coleman of Potosi, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Jarvis of Mineral Point, Missouri, Alice “Pet” and husband C.D. Jarvis of Potosi, Missouri, longtime caregiver Alicia Sutton of Desloge, Missouri in addition to many nieces, nephews other relatives and dear and special friends who will miss her.  

    Alvina enjoyed several hobbies such as cooking, baking, and embroidery. She loved attending sports events and watching her grandchildren play. In addition to sports, she enjoyed horses, listening to music, and playing the piano. She cherished time spent with her family, kids, and grandkids. Being with her family was her favorite place to be. She will be missed by all the lives she touched.
