Alice Fell (nee Petersen) Stringham, formerly of Belgrade, Missouri, passed away at Farmington Presbyterian Manor on August 23rd, 2026, at the age of ninety-two years, one month, and eight days.

Alice was born on July 15th, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri, the middle daughter to the late Vernon Fell and Marion Louise (Martin) Petersen. She spent her formative childhood years in Kirkwood, MO, as her older sister had before, making her debutante appearance at the Veiled Prophet Ball (1952); graduating from Kirkwood High School before she headed off for college. She first attended Bradford Junior College (Haverhill, MA) obtaining an Associate of Arts degree; later attending Washington University (St. Louis, MO) attaining a bachelor’s degree in Archaeology.

She worked briefly for various doctors’ offices in Kirkwood until, on a blind date, she met the love of her life, John Keever Stringham. On July 14, 1967, Alice married John Keever Stringham formerly of Cleveland, Ohio at the Kirkwood Presbyterian Church and together they shared 54 years together before John passed on December 8, 2021.

After their marriage in 1967, they moved to their farm (Stringham Ranch) in Belgrade, MO and for the next 49 years, she shared John’s passion for the farm, livestock, and the hay crews she served numerous meals to before they stopped active farm operations in 2012.

For over 30 years she and John were active in the National Association of Aladdin Lamp Collector, Inc. and attended many state conferences and national conventions around the United States. Alice also traveled with John to the annual Small Engine shows in Portland, Indiana for more than 25 years. She ran “Alice’s Attic” Antiques for several years from her home and in several local antique malls.

Alice was an active member of Pi Beta Phi social sorority, Treasurer of the (National Emergency Shelter Services Board), past president & member of the Valley R-6 School Board (1980’s), Committeewoman of the Washington County Central Republican Central Committee (Belgrade Township -1960’s-70’s), 65-plus years member of International chapter of P.E.O. Sisterhood (Philanthropic Education Organization) (Kirkwood Chapter), former Secretary & Member of the Valley Lion’s Club, long time member of the Belgrade Methodist Church, where she was on several committees and boards.

In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by her two sisters and brothers-in-laws Marion Louise (James R. Cobb), Jane Martin (John P. “Jack”) Nixon, nieces Louise (Cobb) Stone, and Virginia (Ginny) Nixon.

She is survived by her two loving sons John Fell Stringham of Belgrade, MO, George Edward Stringham of St. Louis, MO, brother in law Peter Hall of St. Louis, Bob Minton of Florida; nieces Vicky Nixon of Brewster, MA, Marion (Cobb) Molski (husband Jeffrey) of Ohio, Betsy Miller of Columbia, MO, Marty Hall of St. Louis, MO; nephews James Petersen (“Peter”) (wife Eleanor) Cobb of Tennessee, Paul Christian Cobb (wife Susan) of Kentucky, Vernon Nixon (wife Lynn) of Boxborough, MA, Rick (wife Liz) Hall of St. Louis, MO; great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 29th, 2026, at 10AM at the Belgrade Methodist Church. Burial will be private.
