Mason Sitzes of Pacific, Missouri, was born on Saturday, October 25, 1930 in Tiff, Missouri, a son of the late, Lily Gertrude (Cummins) Sitzes and Mason Walter Sitzes. Mason departed this life on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at his residence having reached the age of eighty-one years, three months and four days.
Mason was united in marriage to Mary Moon on October 10, 1952 in Selma, Alabama, and this union was blessed with three children.
Mason is survived by his loving wife, Mary Sitzes of Pacific, Missouri; one daughter, Karen Boyce and husband, Leon of Pacific, Missouri; two sons, Jim Sitzes of Pacific, Missouri, Richard Sitzes and wife, Angeles of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Aric Boyce, Kyle Boyce and wife, Jenn, Leana Proetz and husband, Steve; two great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Proetz and Aubrey Proetz; also surviving are other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Mason was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Lee Sitzes.
Mason served his country by enlisting into the United States Air Force on October 19, 1950. While serving he received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and was Honorably Discharged on September 4, 1954.
Mason was a 1948 graduate of the Potosi High School and a 1958 graduate of the University of Missouri. He worked as a sales manager for thirty-two years retiring in 1992. Mason was an outdoorsman who enjoyed taking walks in the woods admiring the many beautiful gifts of Mother Nature. He also enjoyed making beautiful woodworking projects. Mason loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Carol Keating officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Blackwell Masonic Cemetery, Blackwell, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Leon Boyce, Aric Boyce, Kyle Boyce, Jim Sitzes, Richard Sitzes and Steve Proetz.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
