Claude Ray Nixon

Claude Raymond “Ray” Nixon of Potosi, Missouri, passed away on May 22, 2018, at St. Louis University Hospital at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 7 days. Ray was born January 15, 1935, in Hopewell, Missouri to the late Claude Raymond Nixon, Sr., and Mary Ellen (Ramsey) Nixon. Ray married Jackie (Skiles) Nixon on August 2, 1958, and three children were born to this union.
Ray was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge #143 in Irondale, Missouri, and a member of the Potosi First Baptist Church. Ray enjoyed antiques, clock repair, gardening, woodworking, and going to auctions with his grandson Adam. Ray was known for his amazing ability to build, restore or repair almost anything. He held a great love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife Jackie, Ray was preceded in death by his half siblings, Mamie Lawson and Charles Nixon. Ray is survived by children, Lisa Parks of Farmington, MO, and Terry Nixon and special friend Lori of Davenport, IA. Five grandchildren; Sara Parks, Erin Parks and Adam Parks of Farmington, MO, Chad Nixon (Maggie), Alex Nixon (Jenn) of Davenport, IA. Four great grandchildren; Landolin, Logan Ray, Hudson Ray and Emerson. Ray is also survived by dear friends, Judy Evans, James Simpson, Rolla & Jeanie Griggs and Ruth and the late Jim Dickey.
