Gerald Wayne “Jerry” West Potosi, Missouri, was born November 12, 1956, in Ironton, Missouri, a son of Theresa Elaine (Remion) West and the late Stanley Haskel West, Sr. Jerry departed this life at Barnes Hospital on April 6, 2018, having reached the age of Sixty-One Years, Four Months and Twenty-Five Days.
Jerry was united in marriage to Brenda Sue Pashia on April 23, 1983, in Old Mines, Missouri, and to this union two children were born.
Jerry is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Brenda West of Potosi, MO, one daughter, Lindsey Jarvis and husband Jason of Potosi, MO, one son Christopher “Chris” West of Potosi, MO, his mother, Theresa West of Potosi, MO, two sisters, Janet Sebring and husband Bob of Lake St. Louis, MO, Renee Strong and husband Todd of Imperial, MO, six grandchildren, Gunner, Kolton, Sawyer, Ty, Jenna and Sophia, mother and father-in-law, Dorothy and Oscar “Bob” Pashia of Potosi, MO, Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Carol “Sis” West-Lawrence of New Mexico, MO, Mary Pat West of Potosi, MO, Annie West, of Phoenix, AZ, Donna & John Robart of St. Claire, MO, Ronnie & Ellen Pashia of Potosi, MO, Billy & Beth Pashia of Potosi, MO, Linda & Doug Haguewood of Potosi, MO, Bobby and Chrissy Pashia of Potosi, MO and by many other dear and special relatives and friends. In addition to his father, Jerry was also preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley “Butch” West Jr., Garry West and Larry West.
Jerry was the Owner of Boyer Lumber and Rental in Potosi. During his life and ownership, Jerry was there for all, he was always giving back with donations of money, tools and bounce house rentals. Jerry also owned the Westside Car Wash, Potosi where he was also known to hand out quarters for washing or vacuuming. He enjoyed his time at work and on the farm.
Jerry was very active in the community, serving on many boards and with many organizations. He was a member of the Potosi Elks Lodge #2218 where he spent many years as the Lodge secretary, served on the Pam Dudley Center Board, 911 Board, Potosi IDA Board, First State Bank Board and many others.
Jerry enjoyed many things in his life, especially his family and grandchildren. He was always ready to travel to a ball game, event, go antiquing or on a family trip. Jerry never minded taking in a stranger or a child to make them a friend. He loved to travel, ride motorcycles, go golfing or just visiting with his friends.
Jerry will be remembered for his passion of Life, hard work and his love for his community. His morning gatherings at the Lumber Yard will forever be cherished by all.
Jerry was a rock for his family and friends. Never knowing how to say no or I do not have the time. He gave of his time to all and never expected anything in return.
