Harry Anthony Hopkins

Harry Anthony Hopkins of Cadet, Missouri was born on Tuesday, March 7, 1944 in Cadet, Missouri a son of the late, Myrtle Ann (Portell) Hopkins and the late, James Edward Hopkins. Harry passed peacefully at his home in the early morning on Monday, March 24, 2014. He was in the arms of his wife and surrounded by his daughters as all of the family shared one last sunrise over his lake together. Harry was seventy years and seventeen days of age.

Harry was united in marriage to Glenda J. Dean on March 21, 1964 in Farmington, Missouri and this union was blessed with three daughters.

Harry is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Glenda J. Hopkins of Cadet, Missouri; three daughters, Janice Maureen “Nan” Humphrey and companion, Darren Wacker of Washington, Missouri; Jennifer Lynn “Rosie” Hopkins and companion, Ron Osborne of Louisville, Kentucky; Stephanie Jean “Punky” Hopkins and life partner, Danny Marquart of Owensville, Missouri; one sister, Anne “Sis” Hopkins-Hasty of Old Mines, Missouri; one brother, Thomas Hopkins and wife, Carrie of Old Mines, Missouri; two grandchildren, Chadwick Anthony “Tudin” Hopkins, Alexander Lynn “Axle Honey” Missey; brother-in-law, Delbert Price of Valle Mines, Missouri; also surviving are other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by three sisters, Fannie Mae Price, Mildred Ann Wolk, infant Angie Cecile Hopkins and son-in-law, Jimmie Wayne Humphrey.

Harry was a parishioner of the St. Stephen Catholic Church, Richwoods, Missouri. Harry’s greatest joy was spending time with his family especially his grandsons. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, supplying vegetables to many. Harry also enjoyed watching old TV shows, talking on his CB radio and restoring old trucks and cars. He was always tirelessly helping others and asking for nothing in return.

Visitation was held Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 8:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Robert Liss officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Honoring the life of Harry and serving as Pallbearers were Chadwick Hopkins, Alexander Missey, Bob Covington, Danny Marquart, Daniel Marquart, Darren Wacker, Lonnie Price, Jeff Price, Greg Daugherty, Rodney Price and Kevin Price.
